Everything you need to know about using WeatherWisp
General Questions
Our weather data comes from Open-Meteo, which uses multiple high-resolution weather models including ECMWF, GFS, and regional models. Accuracy varies by timeframe:
- Today/Tomorrow: 85-95% accuracy
- 2-3 Days: 80-90% accuracy
- 4-5 Days: 75-85% accuracy
- 6-7 Days: 70-80% accuracy
WeatherWisping becomes less accurate further into the future due to the chaotic nature of atmospheric systems.

Understanding Weather Data
The UV Index measures the strength of ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Higher values mean greater risk of skin and eye damage:
- 0-2 (Low): Minimal protection needed
- 3-5 (Moderate): Wear sunscreen, hat recommended
- 6-7 (High): Protection essential, reduce sun exposure
- 8-10 (Very High): Extra protection needed, avoid midday sun
- 11+ (Extreme): Take all precautions, unprotected skin burns quickly
AQI measures air pollution levels and its potential health effects:
- 0-50 (Good): Air quality is satisfactory
- 51-100 (Moderate): Acceptable; some pollutants may concern very sensitive individuals
- 101-150 (Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups): Sensitive groups may experience health effects
- 151-200 (Unhealthy): Everyone may begin to experience health effects
- 201-300 (Very Unhealthy): Health alert; everyone may experience serious effects
- 301+ (Hazardous): Health emergency; entire population affected
"Feels Like" (also called apparent temperature) takes into account humidity and wind to describe how the temperature actually feels to humans. On humid days, it feels warmer than the actual temperature. On windy days, it feels cooler (wind chill effect).
Precipitation probability (shown as a percentage) indicates the likelihood of rain, snow, or other precipitation occurring at that location during the forecast period. For example, 70% means there's a 70% chance of precipitation. It doesn't indicate how long or how much it will rain.
Wind direction indicates where the wind is coming FROM, not where it's going. For example, "North" or "N" means the wind is blowing from the north toward the south. We show this using compass directions (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW).
